What I do for fun

I have odd hobbies I suppose. I like to paint, read, go camping (planning a trip for the spring right now), write code, play video games, watch movies, and juggle.

Camping

When I was growing up, I was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, and if I wouldn't have been such a punk as a kid, I would have easily earned my Eagle, the highest rank attainable in the BSA. But I didn't, and for a long time I didn't do anything with camping. However, when I moved up here, I got involved with a summer camp program with adolescent burn victims, spending a week and a half out in the woods having a good time. Since then, I've had a renewed interest in camping and the outdoors in general. Hence the planning of a camping trip in the sping. As of right now, I have one friend going with me, and I'm trying to convince one or two more people to join in the fun. We'll see how that goes, and if you see in the news some fools getting eaten by a bear or something this coming spring, it's probably me...

Juggeling

Talk about an odd recreational activity, but hey, little kids love it. So, I learned to juggle a good number of years ago, and then stopped. But this last summer camp we came up with the idea of doing a talent show, mandatory counselor participation, and one of my co-counselors said he was going to do a juggling show, I mentioned that I could juggle and that turned into one hairy affair. He didn't mention that he could juggle like a professor at a clown school. I can keep three balls in the air, but that man can do fancy things, so I and another one of our Co's ended up being a kind of sideshow for him, but it was fun. Since camp, I've been working with him on occasion to improve on the skills, next year will be spectacular at camp.
